Beginning June 11, 2025, San Bernard Electric Cooperative will transition to a new number for all outage notification text messages. Instead of using the short code 85700, members will now receive and send outage texts through our main phone number: 979-865-3171.
This update simplifies how you connect with us—one number for both calls and texts. That’s right! The same number you use to call our Bellville office is now the only number you’ll need to report outages or receive updates via text.
What You Need to Do:
If you currently have 85700 saved in your phone, please update your contact list and replace it with 979-865-3171. Saving this number ensures you won’t miss important updates during an outage.
