Powering the Spirit of Giving This Holiday Season

The holiday season is a time for giving, coming together and making a difference in the lives of others. This year, San Bernard Electric Cooperative (SBEC) is proud to partner with Marine Toys for Tots to help spread Christmas cheer to children and families throughout our local communities.

From now through December 4, 2026, all SBEC offices will serve as collection locations for new, unwrapped gifts. While donations for children of all ages are welcome, we're placing a special emphasis on an age group that is often overlooked during holiday toy drives: teenagers.

According to Toys for Tots, gifts for teens are consistently among the most needed donations. While shopping for younger children may come naturally during the holidays, finding something for an older child can be just as meaningful. Items such as headphones, portable chargers, sports equipment, backpacks, art supplies, jewelry-making kits, games and gift cards are all wonderful options that can help make a teen's Christmas a little brighter.

At SBEC, we believe the cooperative difference goes far beyond delivering reliable electricity. Concern for Community is one of our seven cooperative principles, and it's a commitment we strive to demonstrate through service, generosity and supporting the communities we call home.

By partnering with Toys for Tots, we're inviting our members, employees and neighbors to come together for a common purpose: making sure more local children experience the joy of Christmas.

Every gift donated makes a difference, and together, even small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact.

How You Can Help

Drop off a new, unwrapped gift in its original packaging at any local SBEC office through December 4. Gifts for children of all ages are appreciated, with teen items especially encouraged.

This Christmas, let's show what makes our communities and the cooperative spirit so special. When neighbors help neighbors, we all shine a little brighter.

Together, we're powering more than homes. We're powering hope, generosity and the spirit of Christmas.
