The Texas Rural Electric Women's Association (TREWA) is a statewide organization dedicated to providing scholarships for its members' children. However, the name is a little misleading. Although it was created for and continues to be run by women, in reality, many men are also members.
The scholarship funds come from the small ($10 per year) membership dues, as well as a raffle and arts/crafts sale at the Texas Electric Cooperatives annual meeting each year.
Scholarship forms and TREWA membership applications are available from: www.trewa.org or contact Carol at San Bernard Electric Cooperative, Inc..
